Car Rental Terms

Please read these before you book. They match the rental agreement you sign at pick-up.

1. Payment & deposit

  • Rent is paid in full upfront, or monthly for long-term rentals.
  • A security deposit is required, in cash or by leaving your passport. The amount depends on the car (see each car on the car rental page).
  • The deposit is refunded within 24–72 hours after you return the car, if there is no damage or violation.
  • If you break this agreement, the deposit is not refunded.

2. Early return

  • You can return the car earlier than planned.
  • Rent already paid is not refunded, and unused days cannot be saved for a later rental.
  • Your deposit is returned as normal (if there is no damage or violation).

3. Cancelling a long-term contract

  • If you cancel a long-term (monthly) contract before the end of the agreed period, a penalty applies: the time you used the car is charged at our actual rental rate (not the discounted long-term rate).
  • The deposit is also kept.
Returning the car early (section 2) is different from cancelling a long-term contract (section 3). If you are not sure which applies to you, message us before you return the car.

4. Fuel

  • Use the correct fuel for your car: petrol (gasoline 95) for all Raptors, sedans and the Xpander, diesel for the Stormtrak, Wildtrak and Everest. Each car’s fuel type is shown on its listing.
  • Return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up. Missing fuel is charged per fuel bar, from 500 THB up to 1,000 THB per bar depending on the size of the car.

5. Accidents & insurance

  • All cars have first-class insurance.
  • In any damage or accident, the renter pays the insurance excess, starting from 5,000 THB.
  • If the accident is your fault, or no other vehicle is involved, you also pay the car’s daily rental rate for every day it is being repaired and cannot be rented out, until the repair is finished.
  • If the other party drives off or cannot be identified, you pay as above, unless you report it to the police and the other party is found, in which case they pay.
  • If another car or motorbike hits our car, their insurance pays. If they have no insurance, the other party pays the full cost, collected on the spot.
  • After an accident: do not move the car, follow police instructions, and contact us immediately.
  • The renter is fully responsible for negligence, accidents involving alcohol or drugs, and any traffic or legal violations.
  • If the insurance does not pay because these terms were broken (no valid licence, alcohol or drugs, driving outside the rental area, misuse), the renter pays the full cost of the damage.

6. Extra charges

  • Lost key: 6,000 THB
  • Normal cleaning (if returned very dirty): 1,000 THB
  • Smoking, weed or bad smell inside the car: 3,000 THB cleaning charge
  • Late return: 200 THB per hour. More than 6 hours late is charged as 1 full extra day.
  • Traffic fines and any damage are paid by the renter, including speed-camera and traffic fines that arrive after the rental ends.
  • If damage or charges are more than the deposit, the renter pays the difference.

7. Using the car

  • Rental area: Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi only. Driving outside these 3 provinces: 20,000 THB penalty. Crossing international borders is not allowed.
  • Personal use only. No sub-renting.
  • Only the renter may drive, and must hold a valid driving licence. A Thai, international or foreign licence is accepted.
  • No driving on beaches, through floods or off-road. No racing and no towing.
  • We are not responsible for personal belongings left in the car.
  • No smoking in the car.
  • You accept the car in its condition at pick-up, so please check it with us before you drive away.

8. Breakdown & extensions

  • If the car breaks down through no fault of yours, we repair it or give you a replacement car. If no replacement is available, unused rental days are refunded.
  • Tell us straight away if a warning light comes on or something feels wrong.
  • Want to keep the car longer? Tell us at least 24 hours before your end date.

9. Theft & tracking

  • If the car is stolen or written off, the renter pays its full market value.
  • Our cars are tracked. If this agreement is broken, we may locate and take back the car immediately.
